The College of Engineering and Computer Science organized a training program titled “From Graduation Project to Startup” on Sunday, February 15, 2026. The program targeted male and female students and was delivered by the college under the supervision of Dr. Mowal Ali Mohammed, as part of its efforts to enable students to transition from the academic environment into the world of entrepreneurship.
The program comes in response to the rapid growth of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and in alignment with the remarkable progress achieved by Riyadh in global startup ecosystem rankings, where it recorded a rise of 60 positions over the past three years. The program also aims to bridge the gap between academic outcomes and labor market requirements by supporting students in transforming graduation projects into scalable investment opportunities.
It focuses on enabling students to assess the entrepreneurial potential of their projects and determine their feasibility for real market application. It also introduces the practical steps required to transform an idea into a startup, starting from developing a prototype to entering the market.
In addition, the program provided a comprehensive overview of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Kingdom, including supporting entities and available opportunities for innovators and entrepreneurs, thereby enhancing students’ ability to benefit from the current empowerment environment. This reflects the growing interest in entrepreneurship and in transforming academic ideas into investment-driven ventures.
