Under the supervision of the Academic Affairs Agency at the College of Engineering and Computer Science, the Academic Advising and Guidance Unit organized an introductory session on the college’s academic majors on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 (Jumada Al-Awwal 9, 1447 AH), at 4:00 PM via the Blackboard platform online.
The session was held as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to enhance academic awareness among third-level students and assist them in selecting the most suitable major according to their interests and abilities, in alignment with labor market needs and rapid technological advancements.
The event featured comprehensive presentations delivered by department heads or their representatives, introducing the vision, mission, objectives, academic structure, and study plans of each department. The presentations also highlighted the skills and knowledge students acquire during their studies, as well as future career opportunities associated with each specialization.
Dr. Hassan Al-Mestiri also provided a detailed explanation of the specialization allocation formula for the current semester, clarifying the calculation methods, academic criteria used to determine students’ eligibility for different majors, as well as the related procedures and requirements.
At the conclusion of the session, students were given the opportunity to ask questions regarding academic majors, requirements, and career prospects. Faculty members responded to all inquiries clearly and transparently, with positive engagement from attendees, reaffirming the college’s commitment to supporting students throughout their academic journey and helping them achieve their future aspirations.
