The Academic Advising and Guidance Unit at the College of Engineering and Computer Science developed a comprehensive plan to support academically struggling students during the academic year 1447 AH. The initiative targeted students who had failed courses or had a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or below, as part of the college’s efforts to enhance academic success and improve learning outcomes.

The plan was implemented through a series of individual and group sessions aimed at providing academic support and helping students overcome challenges throughout their academic journey.

One of the key efforts included an orientation session held on Monday, February 23, 2026, via the Blackboard platform. The session was conducted under the direction of the Vice Dean, Dr. Mai Al-Tulayan, and supervised by the Head of the Academic Advising Unit, Dr. Fatimah Ryan, with the participation of Dr. Ola Al-Qahtani and academic advisors.

The session addressed the main challenges faced by students, offering practical solutions and academic guidance to improve performance and enhance academic achievement. It also featured motivational experiences and realistic recommendations that helped boost students’ motivation and encourage persistence toward success.

The unit continued its efforts by developing individualized follow-up plans and maintaining direct and continuous communication with students to support their academic progress and improve their performance.

In addition, individual meetings were held with male students under the supervision of the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs to monitor their academic progress, discuss key challenges, and provide appropriate guidance and support.

These efforts reflect the college’s commitment to providing a supportive learning environment that empowers students to overcome difficulties and achieve academic success with confidence.
