Universities nowadays are no longer funded by public money and designed for carefully selected elite, for the sake of dry technological advancements, but instead a precious good, available to everyone and for the sake of transforming people. This has led to a fundamental shift towards outcome-based teaching and learning, a worthwhile outcome for the stakeholders including the students, their parents, the community, etc. This outcome is now the sole factor in evaluating each program and every university.

Despite the international concern over the low numbers of women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields, in Saudi and here in PSAU, we are witnessing women in great numbers joining the fields of computer sciences and information systems. Seeing those young women feeling empowered by the knowledge, armed with the tools needed to stand firm to bring the change that has been long-awaited. Seeing that gives me a real pleasure to do my work and to render myself of service to that process.
