program mission:
Preparing highly qualified graduates in computer science, through introducing high quality education that prepares the students for professional careers and develops their skills in research and innovation, in order to contribute effectively in developing knowledge society and achieving national goals.
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
PEO1. Practice professionally as individuals or team members with minimum guidance.
PEO2. Engage in lifelong learning to develop their skills or advance in graduate studies.
PEO3. Apply appropriate practices within a professional, legal, and ethical framework, positively contributing to the society.
Student Outcomes
The program must enable students to attain, by the time of graduation:
- Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions.
- Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline.
- Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.
- Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles.
- Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program’s discipline.
- Apply computer science theory and software development fundamentals to produce computing-based solutions.
Program Curriculum of Computer Sciences
The curriculum of Computer Sciences program is structured into 193 credit-hours, spanning over a period of twelve trimesters. The curriculum is structured to successive levels of trimester so that the students’ knowledge and understanding of computer science are increased each semester. The CS program grants the Bachelor of Science in computer sciences (B.Sc.) to those who successfully complete 193 credit hours with Cumulative GPAs of 2.00 or higher on a 5.00 point scale.
Requirements of the Study Plan:
To earn a B.Sc. in Computer Sciences, students are required to complete 193 credit hours distributed as follows:
