The Department of Computer Engineering started in the academic year 2008/2009 (1429/1430H) as a part of the College of Computer Engineering and Sciences under King Saud University. In the academic year 2009/2010 (1430/1431H), the colleges and departments of King Saud University in the southern states of Riyadh had become Al Kharj University. The name has been changed again to Salman bin Abdulaziz University and recently to Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University. The department is offering a computer engineering program that grants Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering upon successful completion of 160 credit hours. The Department enrolls 20 to 25 students in every batch, typically every semester. The program is selective, and students are admitted based on their performance in the first three semesters.
