Students of College of Computer Engineering and Sciences achieve the second position in Saudi Digital Machines Hackathon competition
Students of the College of Computer Engineering and Sciences of Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University had a big achievement by winning the second place in Saudi Digital Machines Hackathon competition - the area of Energy, which was organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information technology in partnership with General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsh’at) where more than 300 participants took part between 21-24/03/2018 at King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue in Riyadh. The aim is to promote intelligent solutions based on artificial intelligence and Internet of Things in order to solve the problems of the nation in the areas of energy, water and health. The Project of the university students participating in Hackathon aims at building a system that increases the effectiveness of farms fans of power-generation based on the internet of things and artificial intelligence so that the system can predict the expected energy consumption of factories based on the consumption of previous years.
At the end of Hackathon, the Ministry of Communications and Information technology, in the presence of HE the Minister Eng. Abdullah Bin Amer Alswaha and in the presence of partners and supporters on Saturday 24/032018 at the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue in Riyadh, held a ceremony honoring the winners where the students of Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz university were honored with the second position. Those students were (Mr. Badi Ammar Dukhan, Mr. Khaled Abdullah Alharthi, Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Jamal, Mr. Majed Abdullah Alkhalifa, and Mr. Khaled Sefer Alharthi).
On this occasion, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Alhamid congratulated the winning students in the Hackathon in the presence of the Dean of College of Computer of Engineering and Science Dr. Mohammed Battah Alshammari and Vice Dean of the college for Educational and Academic Dr. Abdulaziz Abdullah Aldaej.
